These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of BackupPilot (the "App"), a Shopify application provided by Verz Design ("we", "our", "us"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.
BackupPilot allows Shopify merchants to create backups of selected store data, package them into a downloadable ZIP archive, and optionally upload them to the merchant's own Google Drive account. The App also supports scheduled automatic backups and email notifications of backup results.
You must be an authorized administrator of a Shopify store to install and use the App. By installing the App, you represent that you have the authority to grant the App access to that store's data.
The App is offered under multiple plan tiers with different feature sets:
| Plan | Includes |
|---|---|
| Free | Weekly automatic and manual backups of products and variants, collections, pages and themes; up to 300 products; latest backup kept; ZIP download |
| Starter | Daily automatic backups of 14 data types, including orders and customers; up to 5,000 products and 300 orders per month; 90-day backup history; email notifications |
| Growth | All Starter features, plus all 16 data types; daily, weekly or monthly schedule; up to 25,000 products and 1,000 orders per month; 365-day backup history; Google Drive sync |
| Pro | All Growth features, plus unlimited products and 3,000 orders per month, a custom backup time and priority support |
When a store has more products, or receives more orders in a calendar month, than its plan includes, the App backs up data up to the plan's limit and asks the store to upgrade.
Features included in each plan, and any associated fees, may change from time to time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify merchants of material changes to plan features or pricing in advance.
You retain full ownership of all store data processed by the App. The App acts solely as a tool to copy that data into backup files on your behalf. We do not claim any ownership interest in your store data or in the backup files generated by the App.
If you connect Google Drive, backup files are uploaded directly to a folder in your own Google Drive account. That folder and its contents are subject to your Google account's own terms, storage limits, and policies. We are not responsible for Google Drive service outages, storage limits being exceeded, or files being modified or deleted by you or others with access to your Drive account.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. While we work to ensure backups run reliably, we do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every scheduled backup will complete successfully (for example, due to Shopify API rate limits, temporary outages, or connectivity issues). The App is intended as a convenience tool and should not be relied upon as your sole backup or disaster-recovery solution. We recommend periodically verifying your backups independently.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Verz Design shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App - including failed or incomplete backups. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the App in the three (3) months preceding the claim.
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. Upon uninstallation, we will delete your stored access tokens and settings in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Shopify's mandatory compliance requirements.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which Verz Design operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
